Came across this clip and reaaally love it! It's the winner of the Dashboard Confessional "Make your own music video contest", creatively using pasteboards to present the song..and the song is cool! Definitely a highly entertaining vid..enjoy!=)

Thalassemia Family Day

Performed in the "Thalassemia Family Day" on 15th Dec, organized by paediatric department Hosp Taiping. The event took place in the famous spot, Zoo Taiping, but embarassingly to say, it was only my very first time to visit there after almost a year of working!=p

The show was kinda not so easy for me as I still find that card magic is generally more for the older age group of children, but the crowd there consists more of younger kids. Based on the experience I gained from Staedtler's show, luckily some simple coin/ rubberband tricks still work well for children=)

Anniversary

Ya..if you do realize, 15th Dec 07 is a very, very important day to me. One complete year of service, signifies the end of my housemanship! Gosh the thrill is just so undescribable! One year, too much sweats and tears, too many ordeals to overcome, i'm truly glad that I survive, and survive well. It is ever challenging to new docs, and it'll surely be rewarding in the end, if you do pay serious attention to what it has to teach you.
It is, in the end a memorable and enjoyable year. Things that happened have really enriched my life experience. Ask me when you see me, I have just too many stories to share=)

Bye O&G

Finally, I finished Obs & Gyne posting, my last posting as a houseman. It's a huge relief, no doubt. I think no one would say it's easy to survive here, as O&G is an universally tough posting, wherever you are. The reason is being the environment and the ppl here are at all time super tensed up, due to that it's strictly no room for any minute error and every small thing can be medico-legal, that one single mistake (even the almost inevitable one) can either ruin your reputation, or worse, end your career.

My stress level was enormously multiplied at my 2nd week in the posting, when a new head of department joined. The standard which we thought was demanding enough, was only maybe just 10% he expected. So, go figure.

In the end of the posting, among my batch of colleagues (8 of us joined the posting around the same time), only me and another gal left the posting uneventfully, whereas six were extended, which is a terribly significant number in the history!

But after all, I think because of the intense stress, i learnt so much from this posting as compared to others. And O&G is really special that it actually combines medicine (antenatal care), surgery (LSCS and gyne ops) and paeds (newborn care), makes it such an unique discipline!=)

Jessie's Wedding Dinner

Was invited to perform in Carmen's sister, Jessie & Leong's wedding dinner on 8th Dec. Talking about Carmen, she's my 'oldest' friend! What I mean is can you believe that we have known each other since kindergarten and still keeping in touch..it's 20 yrs of friendship!=) And it happened so coincidently that her brother-in-law's hometown is Taiping, and therefore the wedding dinner was held here.

The wedding dinner was of a traditional one..but magic has certainly made it a 'magical' one hehe. I think the guests were somewhat surprised to see a guy walking around performing tricks..I'm glad that they were entertained!=)

The whole event went well and we then went to the hotel and had another round of drinks and catching ups. Also met one of her relatives, Elaine who's actively involved in charity activities, who would love to add some magic entertainment during her charity visits. Hopefully we'll work up some plans soon!=)
